HG Performance CLA250 Track Spec

Preparing this vehicle for the racetrack started with creating a suspension and braking setup capable of handling the demands of serious performance driving. We fitted KW Variant 3 suspension at all four corners, and were fortunate enough to receive the first U.S.-spec set for this vehicle directly from KW Germany. The result provided a significantly more purposeful foundation for the car, with the adjustability needed to support its track-focused setup.

To complement the suspension, we upgraded the undersized factory braking system with a Brembo Gran Turismo 6-Piston Monoblock and 2-Piece Drilled Rotor front kit. The larger Brembo setup introduced a clearance issue with the factory wheel offset, requiring the addition of spacers. We ultimately replaced the stock wheels with a set of HRE Flowforms, wrapped in Toyo Tires, creating a combination designed to provide the fitment, grip, and braking capability needed for track use.

With the suspension upgraded and braking performance significantly improved, we turned our attention to the car’s sound and character. The factory exhaust note was relatively quiet and lacked the aggressive personality we wanted from a track-oriented build. Our in-house fabricators designed and hand-built a custom exhaust system, finishing it with a unique one-off titanium tip to give the car a distinctive appearance and sound.

Inside the cabin, we continued the performance-focused transformation with Recaro Sportster CS seats, finished with an “HG Performance plaid” inlay by Autobahn Interiors. Since the vehicle was also being prepared for track use, we added a 4-Point bolt-in roll bar to complete the interior’s motorsport-inspired setup.

To finish the exterior, we took the vehicle to Modern Image for professional tinting and a custom wrap featuring our HG Performance digital camouflage design. The wrap also showcased the brands and vendors that helped bring this build together, including HRE Wheels, Recaro, Brembo, Toyo Tires, Motul, Chapparone Auto Body, and Modern Image.

The finished vehicle brings together track-focused suspension, upgraded braking, performance wheels and tires, a custom exhaust, purpose-built interior components, and a distinctive HG Performance exterior treatment—creating a build that looks at home both on the street and at the racetrack.
